Vanessa Fernandes is a multi-award winning entrepreneur. Born in Lisbon to parents from Guiné-Bissau, Vanessa moved to London in her early teens. After obtaining a degree in Fashion Journalism, Public relation and Marketing at London College of Fashion part of the University of the Arts London, she went on to study a Masters in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. After a brief time working in Fashion and in the corporate world she soon realized it did not align with her life objectives. The mother of 2 is the Director of NAYA LONDON Ltd a business she started at the age of 19, she has been awarded, Young entrepreneur of the year in 2014, Rising Start of the Year in 2018 and also Highly commended in the Health & Beauty category of Women in trade awards (Wintrade) in 2019, the same year she won Entrepreneur of the year at the Black Women in Business Awards.

As an advocate for supporting women in Business, she has twice been invited to talk at the House of commons, BBC radio, her brands featured, in various printed and digital publications such as, ELLE.com, DAZED magazine, Pop Sugar, Forbes and recently the industry leader Beauty Independent published her interview with LA based journalist Rachel Brown.

Through partnerships and a collaborative effort her work with NAYA LONDON alongside her global partners is using the business of beauty as a medium to empower women worldwide, supporting women from Ghana as far as the Amazon forest in Brazil and Suriname to earn a living beyond aid.

Dr. Wedad Abdelrahman is a fully qualified UK-trained consultant dermatologist, registered with the General Medical Council with a special interest in paediatric and medical dermatology. After graduating from Queen’s University of Belfast with distinction, she completed her speciality training programme in the Northern Ireland deanery, during which she embarked on a prestigious fellowship on Therapeutic Use of Laser working alongside plastic surgeons at one of the UK leading centres for Burns and Plastic Surgery in Swansea. She was the second dermatologist in the UK to achieve this. In 2018 Dr Abdelrahman went on to complete a sought-after fellowship in medical dermatology at the world renowned centre- St John’s Institute looking after medically complex patients. She worked as a consultant there running paediatric and adult clinics.  Dr. Abdelrahman has published and presented extensively, both at a national and international level. She has a keen interest in medical education and holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Education affiliated with Queen’s University of Belfast. With over a decade of experience Dr Abdelrahman is currently developing a 3-in-1 primer, moisturiser, and SPF, with a focus on creating a formulation suitable for a range of skin tones and needs. Has been a chairman for BABTAC and CIBTAC and as the Vice President of CIDESCO GB, sits on many industry boards globally as a director or trustee and has won awards for education and business in the UK and internationally. She is a speaker at many industry events globally and is a business volunteer for students in colleges.

Efia is the Founder & CEO of BlackOwned Studios + Marketplace - a community-based enterprise with the focus of increasing the visibility of Manchester’s Black beauty scene.   The first space of its kind in the UK, BlackOwned Studios + Marketplace provides a radical alternative for the Black community currently underrepresented in today’s beauty industry. Providing flexible co-working studios for Afro hairstylists and beauticians, a marketplace exclusively featuring Black-owned beauty products, as well as an event space for the local community.   For the past 3 years, Efia headed the growth of the online brand BlackOwned MCR prior to launching the Studios, with the ultimate aim to provide more safe spaces to celebrate the diversity that is Black beauty culture. Caroline Larissey is the Chief Executive of the National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF), the largest UK trade association for around 5,000 hairdressing, barbers, beauty, and aesthetics businesses. Formerly the organisation’s Director of Quality and Standards, Caroline is a well-known and respected expert in her field. In her previous role as the Director of Quality and Standards, Caroline was responsible for championing the employer's voice and ensuring quality, standards, and education across the sector. Acting as a conduit between Government and industry, Caroline works with employers, industry and awarding organisations, professional bodies, Government agencies, departments, and ministers on issues such as training, apprenticeships, standards, qualifications, codes of practice, quality assurance, funding, and business practice. Teldra Campbell is a renowned International Locsologist and Natural Hair Specialist, who for over 35 years, has developed and perfected unique and intricate styling techniques for all lengths and thickness of locs and natural textured hair. A Healthy Body, Hair & Scalp are her mantra, and her nurturing processes keep hair & locs nourished, groomed and maintained to look and feel their best, making her a sought-after Stylist offering expert care to both male and female clients through a variety of specialist services. Teldra’s drive led her to become an International Artistic Educator for Design Essentials, specializing in Avant-Garde hair styles, aligning with her ethos and providing healthy styling solutions for textured hair.  Her desire is to share with others how to embrace and enjoy their natural hair through useful methods, hair care & styling tips.  More recently, she was appointed as Lead Educator for Natural & Locs hair within the Design Essentials® International Team, a role that takes her all over the USA, Europe, and Africa, affording her the privilege of teaching Tutors & Stylists, and styling for shows including London Fashion Week, Africa Fashion Collective, for the Royal Opera House and in West End Theatres in the UK, as well as for Africa’s Next Supermodel in Kenya.  The Education she delivers in this specialist expert field, has opened up opportunities for her to deliver Education to Stylists throughout the UK, Europe and parts of Africa. Teldra’s passion lies in empowering others through education and embracing the beauty of their natural hair. She has a thirst to continue to garner knowledge and perfect her craft so that she can continuously deliver at her best to her audience.

Joyce Marcelin is a committed junior hair professional who qualified in 2023 at CONEL College (College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London), where she built a solid foundation in cutting, styling, and caring for all hair types, with a growing focus on textured hair.Since qualifying, Joyce has worked alongside a certified Trichologist from the Institute of Trichologists (IOT), gaining valuable experience in scalp health, hair biology, and the science behind common hair and scalp conditions. This experience has shaped her thoughtful, science-led approach to haircare.In 2024, Joyce travelled to South Korea to complete the Signature Training Course by Månda Studio Seoul, where she was trained in brow and lash lamination (lift) and tint techniques for both eyebrows and eyelashes. This hands-on course gave her insight into global beauty standards and Korean beauty techniques, expanding her skill set and appreciation for holistic, detail-oriented care.Joyce has also spent time with CURLiD, a textured hair and scalp education company, supporting training environments that blend salon artistry with scientific understanding and cultural awareness.Now self-employed, Joyce is focused on helping clients feel confident in their hair and appearance through personalised, informed care. She plans to return to Korea in late 2025 to continue her development in advanced scalp treatments and global beauty practices.
