UK’s Top Beauty Retailer Reveals: The Most Inclusive Beauty Innovations for 2025
One of the UK’s favourite beauty retailers, has just
unveiled its highly anticipated Beauty Trends Report 2025, revealing the
six biggest trends set to shape the industry in the year ahead. As beauty
becomes more global, inclusive, and science-driven, Boots is at the forefront,
blending insights from 16.9 million Advantage Card members, over 1,800 stores,
and 1,300 Boots Beauty specialists with expert market analysis.
Trend 1: URL to IRL – Beauty Without Borders
The digital beauty boom is breaking down borders, with
global beauty brands quickly transitioning from viral fame to high street
must-haves. Korean skincare, known for its innovation, is in high demand at
Boots, with one product selling every 30 seconds. While social media
platforms continue to drive discovery, 94% of beauty shoppers still prefer
in-store shopping for cosmetics, valuing hands-on experiences and expert
advice.
Trend 2: Intergenerational Beauty
Forget the old-school beauty hierarchy—today, knowledge
flows both ways! 39% of parents now take skincare advice from their children,
influenced by the tech-savvy Gen Z alpha, who spend over eight hours a day
online shaping industry trends. More men are also embracing beauty, with a 14%
increase in male shoppers exploring skincare, grooming, and cosmetics at
Boots.
Trend 3: Science of Slumber – Beauty Sleep Elevated
Sleep and skincare go hand in hand, with tiredness being the
top culprit behind dull, stressed-out skin. Inspired by trends like
#morningshed and #sleepmaxxing on TikTok, beauty enthusiasts are prioritising night-time
rituals and products that boost skin recovery. No7 scientists, in
collaboration with the University of Manchester, have uncovered new insights
into skin cell rhythms, reinforcing the importance of beauty sleep.
Trend 4: High/Low Beauty – Mixing Luxury with Budget Buys
Today’s beauty lovers are mastering the art of mixing premium
staples with budget-friendly beauty finds. Over a third of Boots Advantage
Card members shopped across both price points in 2024, with premium beauty
sales at Boots seeing a 14% year-on-year increase. At the same time,
affordability remains key—Boots' own-brand skincare is thriving, with one
product selling every two seconds.
Trend 5: Moodscaping – Fragrance as Self-Care
Scent is more than just perfume; it’s a form of self-care
and emotional expression. 78% of UK consumers believe fragrance enhances
mental well-being, and more shoppers are embracing a fragrance wardrobe—42%
of Boots Advantage Card members purchased more than one fragrance in a year
instead of sticking to a single signature scent.
Trend 6: Enter the Health Hackers
The beauty, healthcare, and aesthetics industries are
blending like never before, with Med Spa-inspired technology and
‘prejuvenation’ (preventative skincare) leading the way. With 78% of
consumers prioritising prevention over cure, advanced beauty tech is in
high demand. The trend is clear—sales of LED masks at Boots skyrocketed by 536%
in 2024, as consumers embrace high-tech beauty solutions.
From global beauty brands making their way onto the high
street to the rise of wellness-driven routines, 2025 is set to be a
game-changer. Which of these trends will be shaping your beauty journey this
year? Let’s talk in the comments!
